Trump Wags the Venezuelan Dog; Putin + MAGA Smell Weakness

From Venezuela to Putin and beyond, Trump is putting American lives in more danger every single day

Wag the Dog—Trump’s Venezuela Killing as Distraction

Cliff and David opened today’s Amped Up episode with a blunt truth: Trump is wagging the dog. Bombing Venezuelan “narco boats” with zero evidence—also known as likely murdering innocent human beings.

There’s been no declaration of war and no due process, but some quality racism & campaign narrative from President brick-brained, Tubby Tuberville.

The entire package that all the world leaders seated at the UN were laughing at the other day, as Trump spoke and displayed how few neurons he has left firing.

It’s unconstitutional, it’s reckless, and it’s designed to distract the American people from Trump’s collapsing fac..err, health.

And the Epstein files, and an economy teetering on the brink due to the economic illiteracy of Cankles McTacoTits (hey, I didn’t even make that one up!).

Trump gets to shout “communists, terrorists, brown invaders” while angling for oil, and a war rally. But what he’s really doing is shredding the Constitution in plain sight.

Retired Navy Commander Bobby Jones, a decorated and brilliant officer who provided incredible insight as to what’s going on right now, joined us for “Amped Up” and laid it bare.

The JAG generals were fired, legal oversight’s been gutted, and personal Trump loyalists have been slipped into the Pentagon like a roofie in your Scotch and soda.

And, yes, we still have to laugh sometimes at what a gaudy, gross, fecal-intellect Trump is.

But, to be clear, the Venezuelan bombings aren’t military strategy—it’s political theater conducted by embedded, amateur extremists, and backed by live ammunition. It’s war theory strategized by Sun Tzu’s less well known brother, NetanyaTzu.

The Pentagon Loyalty Test

Breaking news from the Washington Post landed mid-show: Pete Hegseth—the Christian-Nationalist keg-stander whose own mom hates him—has recalled all U.S. flag officers—every general, admiral, and commander—for a mysterious meeting at the Pentagon.

No agenda, no transparency, just a summons. Cliff called it what it smells like, which is a loyalty oath. When 800 of the nation’s top military leaders are ordered to report without explanation, it feels a lot more like bullying into submission than national scurity.

A Manufactured Crisis

Meanwhile, Trump’s pushing toward a Venezuela confrontation that could spin out of control. Commander Jones warned that the U.S. could win militarily, but with no strategy for peace.

It’s another Iraq, another Afghanistan; just without the pretense of congressional approval. Wwar as a campaign prop. Attention as leadership. Chaos as policy.

Once again, welcome to Trump’s America.

Government Shutdown Standoff

Back home, Trumpublicans are playing their own dangerous game—pushing the government toward shutdown while slashing health care and refusing to extend Obamacare tax credits.

Cliff’s message was clear: Democrats MUST STOP playing nice. No more letters, FFS. No more caves.

Shut it down if Republicans won’t protect Americans’ health care. And tell the story plainly.

A creepy, weirdo billionaire who’s said he opposes democracy, is a Trump supporter and Vance booster, Peter Thiel, is building a database to suck up every American’s private information.

Yeah, that guy gets yachts and spaceports and a few more country homes with funds taken from working families so they can’t eat or get life-saving medical treatment.

The Stakes

This episode captured what’s at stake right now, which is a president desperate for distractions, dismantling checks and balances, and treating the military like a campaign stage.

A Congress too timid to stop him, with Trump’s pool boy, Mike Johnson, too busy monitoring his son’s porn and hiding in a corner hoping Trump won’t hurt him.

And we’re at risk of normalizing lawlessness for those who come next.

As Cliff hammered: if we don’t punish these abuses and build new guardrails, institutions, social taboos..all these abuses by Trump and his MAGA henchman just become the norm.

Today it’s bombing Venezuelan boats. Tomorrow it’s turning U.S. troops into a domestic police force. Once the Rubicon is crossed, history tells us—it damn hard to cross back over.
