Trump’s Health Crisis—and the Media’s Collapse
Cliff Schecter opened today’s livestream with a blunt truth: Donald Trump is clearly quite sick, yet the corporate media is sicker. For a week, Trump vanished from cameras—this man who treats microphones and cameras like The Lolita Express, suddenly refused to be seen.
Why? Because his body is failing (joining his mind on the other end of the seesaw), and the press refuses to cover it.
We’ve had the evidence for years. Back in 2017, Dr. Sanjay Gupta of CNN read Trump’s own charts and concluded he had heart disease. His calcium score was 133—well above the danger zone.
Gupta warned that without drastic lifestyle changes Trump faced a “moderate risk of a heart attack in three to five years.” That was seven years ago. Since then?
Hamberders, sleepless rage-tweeting, and as Cliff said in his previous piece, roughly the exercise regimen of a sloth trapped underneath a grand piano.
So when Trump finally reemerged this week—rigid, hiding his hands and feet behind a lectern, eyes glazed—we were well beyond speculation. The purple blotches married to his hands, the swelling cankles, the vacant stare: they scream cardiovascular decline.
And yet, the New York Times, Washington Post, and CNN ignore it, while they spent months turning Biden’s debate performance into something akin to Roy Batty’s (Rutger Hauer) extended death soliloquy at the end of Blade Runner.
They just couldn’t ever stop talking about it.
The hypocrisy is breathtaking, even for them. And with what Trump’s currently doing to this country—from appointments you couldn’t make at a Circle K, such as Tulsi Gabbard, Stephen Miller, Pam Bondi, and it starts feeling a lot like treason.
David Schuster joined Cliff to drive the point home: when narcissists face mortality, their disorder worsens. Especially the authoritarianism. Trump is now a textbook case—more erratic, more unhinged, more dangerous.
The world sees it. Our adversaries see it. But not our monopoly media?
They normalize it, too timid to call a liar…a liar, too obsessed with “both sides” to confront reality, too corporate owned to want to risk that sweet-sweet deregulation.
Taylor Lorenz Needs A Refresher Course in the Whole Reporting Thing
Taylor Lorenz could learn from Jim Acosta, who left CNN to stay faithful to reporting truth
And while Cliff and David tore into this dereliction of duty, Kristofer Goldsmith joined the Cliff’s Edge live stream to expose yet another media failure. Taylor Lorenz’s Wired Magazine hit piece, smearing progressive influencers.
Instead of going after billionaires funding disinformation to the tune of, well, billions…Lorenz recycled right-wing talking points to attack those on the left of the spectrum spending a pittance of that to support grassroots media fighting fascism.
And she got basic facts wrong, such as making up that there was some requirement not to say mean things about Democratic leadership or support independent Democratic voices to get the grant. Nope.
Speaking of mean things, she even took her horse and pony show of “look at me, look at me!” onto the Rumble show of an infamously dishonest propagandist who magically agrees with the Kremlin on everything, Glenn Greenwald!
The same Greenwald who put Lorenz’s life in danger by so grossly attacking her on Twitter by sending his army of Walking Dead dead-enders shuffling after her.
