To this article, which I love, I want to contribute journalists within the black community who are not affiliated with corporate media apartheid.

I had not heard about Trey, and my heart goes out to the family.

I had written this about the Tulsa Race Massacre several months ago, and while much different this view, I believe it adds some depth to the story.

Unfortunately, I had read the account of Trey Reed’s death. Trey, may you and your family receive the justice you are owed.

Thank you for the details of this historical event. Like you. I hope we’re not trending in the wrong direction but it sure seems like it these days. And trump is the trender in chief.

God. Poor Trey. This is so terrible. And no justice. God.

I do not understand why I do not know about Trey. I know I had someone in the hospital in September, but I'm sure I still had days I was able to catch the news. Was it one of those stories barely covered, if at all? This is beyond tragic - in the year 2025???

We ARE moving backwards in all things regarding racism and bigotry.

He unleashed it - made it acceptable to be a bigot! Is that picture of Trey with his Mom and younger brother? All I can think about is Emmitt Till. Heartbreaking. What a disgrace and embarrassment that this is still a way of thinking. I just cannot wrap my head around it, at all.

As for black history, we should be ashamed as a nation that it has NOT been included in American history. Has never been taught in school.

We should all be frightened by the bigotry taking place and the reversal of DEI.
