I guess we should be thankful for small favors, cuz if they're standing around doing nothing, at least they're not out on the streets deporting law abiding American citizens and killing others.

That's the way to look at the whole situation in order to not lose another piece of our sanity. However, I was reading that ICE is getting tips about people who are targets for deportation. Let's hope the ICE horror in our communities is not moving to our airports!

This is just another crazy scheme to solve a problem Trump created. By sending his ICE patrols to the airports, Trump is adding to the congestion and all the chaos. The ICE patols are not trained to be TSA and have no idea what to do. You can see them milling around, looking confused and taking pictures on their ceelphones.

Ice is there to intimidate. 'Twould seem they have been employed from the beginning to instill fear.

Elect a nut and you get nutty actions . . . Like ICE, wars, and murder.

Susan Rose's avatar

Good point that ICE has no TSA training. From what I have read, TSA Agents get a lot more training than I would have thought. So ICE definitely is not properly trained to work in TSA capacity. Then again, ICE isn't properly trained in law enforcement either and that doesn't seem to have mattered has it!!! So if ICE isn't trained in any capacity, I say we just get rid of them completely!!!

Alan Goldhammer's avatar

Love to get rid of them. Do you have a magic wand to do that?

Penny Myers-Dubin's avatar

Typical Trump act fast with no forethought and claim victory. Then wonder why consequences get out of control. When will the first ice agent shooting at an airport happen?

Jeffrey Hobbs's avatar

There's also a shortage of air traffic controllers. Why don't they send a few ICE agents up to the tower to stand around and watch them crash planes into each other?

Linda Baldassare's avatar

Because that would turn ICE ON !!! Violence excites them so ya now what they do in their free time

These Bureaucratic Games at the expense of citizens is outrageous. It is illegal for any business to not pay employees for their work -- which must be the same for government employees. Getting paid eventually is not ok. Microsoft, Apple, CNN can not tell its employees you will get paid in a month or two --- or when the stock goes up. We must demand Congress pass laws to make these games they play illegal. It is absolutely disgraceful that they think it is acceptable to use government employees as their pawns & scapegoats to negotiate budgets. Not only that, using ICE agents from another department to do a job they are not trained for is also ridiculous. Why would it be legal to take the funds from one Department and use it for another (again without Congress' consent)? And then, if you are going to ok a use of funds, lay off the Ice Agents and pay TSA employees.

Congress has not done its job is 40 years. It should have been writing new Immigration Legislation for years & has done nothing. It appears they no longer have the ability to think, analyze, write & negotiate. The only thing they are capable of is asking for money (or now making money through their positions. It offers absolutely no check on the unstable & dangerous decor sitting atop the gold flocked decorated cake on Pennsylvania. In other words, they are useless. They behave like 8 year olds on a school yard who don't know how to deal with the school bully.

In this world, the Constitution & laws don't exist, rendering them all free to create post truth unreality that citizens are supposed to accept --- as they are doing. Congress does not have to vote on what has already been rendered illegal. No where in the Constitution do I read that a President must be impeached before being legally held accountable for his illegal actions.

It is my opinion, that Citizens need to file Class actions suits against Trump & Congress for not doing their jobs as Stated by the Constitution, his and Congress' outright illegal actions, incompetence, negligence, intentional infliction emotional & financial harm on American citizens by their actions or deliberate inactions. Part of the financial remedy to every citizen should be a lump some payment for the financial, emotional costs put on the citizens due to all these illegal actions. (rise in food, gas prices, inability to pay bills while not getting paid, etc.).

Additionally, a complete accounting done of all the costs, spending, illegal use of citizens money for all Trump's illegal actions, misappropriation of funds, all lawsuits filed by Trump & against Trump due to his illegal, unconstitutional actions, illegal acts of war, etc. Trump utilizes the Justice Department as his personal law firm , with an endless slush fund of taxpayers' money. Perhaps if citizens understood the financial --- actual dollar figures, that Trump deems his, they might wake up.

Spending money for his attacks on Venezuela, Iran and anything else he does without Congress' authority needs to be stopped & injunctions issued. Again, the only word Trump understands is lawsuit. Bully in chief only has power through lawsuits--- but can be possibly be stopped by them. Again, he just files another.

I am embarrassed to say, Trump, Congress and Compliant Citizens are a disgrace to the US and the World.

@ Robin : Thank you for your response , I’m an ACLU member , I’m sure they would love to sue Donald , probably have it in the works at this point !

Linda Baldassare's avatar

Whomever you are Thank you Robin ! Ya gotta be an attorney , so how does the average American do what you suggest ? There must be a line the size of 4 NYC blocks to sue Donald , and since we have been economically rendered hopeless, will an attorney do it pro bono ? Thank you

Robin Freedman's avatar

Hi Linda,

Thank you for the compliment -- no I am not an attorney -- I did work as a paralegal for a while ---- but it is hopeful, creative thinking--- doesn't appear so farfetched -- given Trump sues everyone -- mostly not based on facts or the law. If Trump refuses to follow the law and the Constitution and Congress allows him, not doing their job -- what other recourse do the Citizens have--appears to me none other than a Class Action Suit -by Citizens.--- The ACLU defends those whose Constitutional rights have been violated--- which Trump and Congress are doing daily. I do not know what a Constitutional lawyer would think------but since everyone in this country creates their own reality which is then forced on us -- I thought creating a possible reality could bring about one. I haven't been able to find information why it couldn't happen--- but experts would need to explain. Suing hasn't stopped Trump -- so why should it stop us?????

If everyone stops flying it would get fixed fast.

No Henry , Donald would think that’s a great thing , and send ICE into high school classrooms

The wingnut strikes again. Great analogy David. Providing a new hat for a broken leg. Sure hope some of the knuckle draggers who voted for this felon are standing in those lines.
