Adam Smith, commonly regarded as the ‘father of modern capitalism’, or the ‘father of modern economics’, but he is neither. He is, however, the ‘father of classical economics’. The ‘neoclassical’ economists are the true ‘fathers of modern economics’ who, at the turn of the 20th century dropped a key motivation for economic behavior, empathy, that along with self-interest was the original dynamic for the term, an ‘invisible hand’. You don’t have to take my word for it. Just read Smith’s first book, “The Theory of Moral Sentiments”, written 17 years before his second book, “The Wealth of Nations”, which was his more referenced book. If we were to return to Adam Smith’s original vision for economics, our mindset would make us realize that basing our economics on just self-interest has warped our sense of community that the Founders, who had to build an economics for a nation and had read Smith’s “Moral Sentiments’, based their economic plan on both self-interest and empathy. Let’s work to get back to that vision and go on offense against the current distortion of our democratic republic. It’ll get us back to what our Founders built into our Constitution, free speech and all.

Friedrich Gustav Emil Martin Niemoller was a theologian and Lutheran pastor. He is best known for his opposition to the Nazi regime and for his quote "First they came for the socialists." Niemoller was sent to the Sachsenhausen and Dachau concentration camps from 1938 to 1945 for his alignment with the Confessor Church that was a movement within German Protestantism in Nazi Germany that arose in opposition to government-sponsored efforts to unify all Protestant churches into a single pro-Nazi German Evangelical Church.

Initially, Niemoller was also a national conservative and an antiisemite who supported Adolf Hitler.

His famous poem follows:

"First, they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

We now have identified who America's first tranche of scapegoats are. Over 200 individuals who have been alleged to be both Venezuelans and criminals have been sent to what is a effectively a concentration camp in El Salvador without either proof of crime or affiliation, charges or due process.

Alleging that Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua gang is the invading force, Trump claimed authority to do this under The Alien Enemies Act of 1798, which is only a wartime authority that allows the president to detain or deport the natives and citizens of an enemy nation. Invoking it in peacetime to bypass conventional immigration law is a staggering abuse of a law, which is only applicable to foreign state actors attacking the United States.

So, who is next?

Please, fill in the blanks and finish this poem for yourself.

First, they came for the Venezuelans, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Venezuelan.

Then they came for the _________, and I did not speak out—because I was not a _________.

Then they came for the _______, and I did not speak out—because I was not a _______.

Then they will come for me—and there will be no one left to speak for me.

Article is absolutely ridiculous. Neither Carson or Letterman would have ever lied like Kimmel did. In fact Kimmel is a so called comedian who is anything but funny. He should have been fired long ago.
