Earlier today, I wrote to my senator, Chris Murphy, because he is one of the few in Congress speaking out about the daily failure of this admin, Congress, and Supreme Court to honor their oaths of office to our Constitution, our country, and to their constituents. I asked if there are no longer ethics, no shame? We have lost the respect of the world! And...regular Americans are suffering because of these criminals! What will our children's future be? Will they even have one?
If even the appearance of people close to power positioning themselves financially around war is in the air, that corrodes public trust in everything we’re being told. This shouldn’t ever be about markets, timing, or leverage—it should be about preventing conflict and protecting lives. The moment war starts to look like it has secondary beneficiaries, faith in the system breaks down fast.
The wealthy make money when we're at peace or in a war. Possibly more so in war because they are heavily invested in the military industrial complex and petrochemicals. And lets not forget that they get tax breaks, loopholes, kickbacks, subsidies, offsets, stock buybacks and bailouts. But we the taxpayers can barely afford groceries, gas or bills and get stuck with the bill for their perks.
I wish I could send a stronger message than the others but, I can’t. I agree the administration is worse than useless. Each day our country is being harmed in every way possible by trump and his cronies. Come on all the people we voted for, do your job!!!
WHERE is the SEC in all of this? Will it open an investigation? Oh wait, didn't trump replace the previous SEC chair, Gary Gensler with his appointed one, Paul S. Atkins?
We know that a Congressional investigation will take place and that the Pentagon DENIES this report as "entirely false and fabricated," stating that neither Hegseth, nor his representatives approached BlackRock about the possible investment and demanded a RETRACTION of the story from The Financial TImes.
While no trade actually took place, the question is, does this rise to the level of ETHICS VIOLATIONS and CONFLICTS of INTEREST since Hegseth was pushing for militarty action at the time and continues to do so still, as trump's violent rhetoric continues, even while a cease fire is now in effect?
He might deny the allegations of his involvement with the stock manipulation. Which is exactly what it’s called. ‘Insider trading.’
