If we weren't living in this upside down, inside out universe, Congress wld've called Wolff to testify years ago. Instead, Michael dines out on his Trump, Epstein and Bannon relationships. This Wolff, in his sheep's journalist attire, is the toast of cafe and political society. It's truly inconceivable!
It appears to me that Michael Wolff loosely patterned his writing career like that of the gossipy late Truman Capote - except for the Epstein class. In exchange for access to this salacious and depraved group, Wolff offered his services as a "friendly" author in case they required someone who could help rehabilitate their public image. In the end, Capote died friendless of the elite whose company he once enjoyed. How will the story end for Michael Wolff?
⁶Thank you so much, Ellie & Blue Amp! Wolff has been bugging me since the first interview I saw with him. I watched multiple of his "Inside Trump's Head" podcast with The Daily Beast but when the last Epstein release dropped and The Daily Beast allowed him to just dismiss any questions, I unsubbed from their channel and won't be returning. The media is supposed to hold people to account. I guess now it's random people becoming citizen journalists that need to take over the job. The media has failed us, and not just in the US.
P.S If at all possible, please avoid using Epstein's face. He oozes ugliness (not to mention it is triggering for many) and the world can use a lot less of that, especially since Trump's face is already everywhere all the time. Same difference.
and some people/publications choose photos that are quite flattering, show his charisma and his wealth, etc. We don’t need people seeing the alluring veneer of the man, but the dark sides which are also revealed in certain photos — far fewer of those get published.....
I knew of Wolff's books but preferred to try to put the disaster of mad king Trump 1.0 aside after he lost in 2020 and didn't read them. As Trump 2.0 launched at an unprecedented scale of destruction, I started listening to The Daily Beast's Inside Trump's Head series. I found Wolff a compelling storyteller who relishes his insider access. But whenever the topic of MeToo, victims and survivors of abuse by powerful men came up, he would emphasize "alleged" or try to downplay ordiscredit the victims' stories. It always angered me and I would madly type objections into the comments. I suspected Wolff must know a lot more and have a terrible way of rationalizing or excusing assault and abuse. From the pictures and stories, it must have been impossible to spend any time at any of Epstein's properties and not see what was going on. That makes Wolff an accomplice to CSA IMO - which can be prosecuted. The emails above and more in the files confirm my suspicions. Worse, in one of the emails here, Ellie highlights a convo where Epstein asks if they are old news (i.e. out of the MeToo spotlight). Did Wolff participate? That sure implies it. Horrible if so.
I haven't unsubbed from his Substack yet - but I probably should.
I recall awhile back on the Daily Beast, Wolff commented on the survivors writing books about their experiences, especially Virginia. He made a comment such as they were just trying to make money off their stories or something to that effect. It was very derogatory and mean spirited coming from a so called author. No empathy whatsoever. That’s when I started thinking about him in a different way.
Each thread of the web around Epstein (and trump) gets stickier than the last. The money. The shady business deals. The money. The connections. The money. The coverups and obfuscations. The money. Epstein was in the center, but those who engaged with him are as vile in their own way, whether or not they were involved in raping and abusing girls.
Perhaps Israelis had so much dirt on trump, through years long activity and invigilation by epstein, that trump did what he was forced to do - to save his backside. Similar with putin and trump attacks on President Zelensky.
Ellie, do you think it's possible Wolff's insane gofundeme account was a bribe? Lev talked about his they is gofundme's for payoffs and bribes. Was it Trump buying his silence? The Melania threat was a cover? To buy Wolff's silence…
“We” and “us”, and “you and me” reveal much. Not just for Wolff to brownnose his next book’s subject but what I see as a caring friendship. I stopped reading Wolff awhile back.
Most likely this will seem a dumb question by experts on the First Amendment and journalists, but I am hoping for a serious answer not just wise ass guesses.
I’m often flummoxed by what the first amendment protects, but is it because Wolff’s interviews are protected somehow by his journalism that they thus far have not been subpoenaed or are the complicit powerful folks not wanting the info public?

Don’t worry, Lev Parnas has Wolff on the subpoena list he’s about to share with the Oversight Committee.

I agree about Epstein’s face. The close up is jarring, especially when we know what he did.

Wolf, Cohen all know more both double agents
Bill Press interviewed Michael Wolff on his podcast on July 29, 2025. It is worth a listen
"Power corrupts..." isn't just a saying, it seems to be a truism for too many people these days.
