Disney must be thrilled.

Their tourism is already crashing, who the fuck is gonna go there now?

Michelle W.'s avatar

Exactly, and will serve them right. I wonder if other countries will add "Florida" to their travel advisory lists "due to health risks."

That would be delicious.

Michelle W.'s avatar

They've been kinda quiet about that. Wonder what they actually think?

DeSantis is dumber than a box of rocks and that's an insult to rocks. Why anyone would have ever voted for this moron is outside of my realm of comprehension. I'm glad I live in Maryland !!!

Quizzically Bemused's avatar

He’s been elected 5 times in Florida, 3 for U.S. house of representative, and twice for governor, it’s not an accident, it’s Floridian ( am really amazed that they haven’t recognized that floride and Florida are virtually homophones, a state name change should be in the offering soon a true conspiratorial loyalty test for the disbelievers.)

the civil war is over.🇺🇸 this flag won. Get over it.

Robin.

Don’t insult the rocks. 🤔

Florida residents should be required to show proof of vaccinations before visiting Canada. We don't want the diseased walking amongst us.

For that matter, with RFK jr in charge maybe all Americans should be required to show proof of vaccinations.

foofaraw & Chiquita(ARF!)'s avatar

Just TRY to get into Africa w/o a yellow fever vaccination!

Michelle W.'s avatar

Or most of Central America and some of the Caribbean.

Michelle W.'s avatar

Canada and Mexico/Caribbean nations should do that. I remember when I had to carry my vaccination records booklet to travel. The EU should consider it as well. I bet the airlines and cruise lines would holler real quick.

However, most people (around 80% per some polls, across political lines) in the US support required vaccinations for entering school. So at one point this is gonna blow up (I hope).

Robin Dumler's avatar

I have all my vaccination records in my wallet if you want to card me. And I do Love Canada, like to move there....maybe. Anything to get away from the BS of the DisUnited States of America and the current level of stupidity.

Michelle W.'s avatar

I still have my old booklet and can DL mine anytime, too. Happy to show if required!

Georgette Cipolla's avatar

So let’s ask DeSantus if his children have been vaccinated ? Hope he doesn’t have any more children.

Robin Dumler's avatar

You mean DeathSantis? My sister had a house in Florida and moved back to Maryland in 2020 due to dumb ass DeathSantis and his bad governing.

Michelle W.'s avatar

Why isn't this being asked already? Oh, he'd stammer out, "they were forced to" or some other asinine reply.

Effieangel's avatar

He’s a fucking liar. I eitjdnt ask that fuckrat anything

Time to ban any immigrants from Florida to California. The risk is too great for spread of any number of diseases.

Kevin Flynn's avatar

Agreed. Besides, we already have enough alligator wranglers, hotel clerks and golf course attendants…

Marci Lait's avatar

Make Florida the sanitarium for viral illness for the country. Just send all people with communicable illnesses to FL since they seem to think they’re above the need for vaccines and that herd immunity is the thunking man’s (aka Ladapo) way to go

Robin Dumler's avatar

Maybe they could construct a holding pen like Alligator Alcrtaz or what's that new one,"The Holding Depot"??? Just hold them there until the perish. Then dump them in the Everglades.

Effieangel's avatar

Absophuquinglutely

Ross Allen's avatar

De Santis is criminally stupid and a danger to the people. A strutting, moronic stooge. Anyone losing a child or family member to these wholly-preventable diseases needs to sue DeSantis personally for wrongful death. $10billion seems about right.

Effieangel's avatar

“ strutting moronic stooge “ is very apropos

Claude Scales's avatar

Someone else, I've forgotten who, suggeted this, but I'll pass it on. If DeSantis is so opposed to government mandates as impositions on personal freedom, when will he get around to declaring that you don't have to stop at red lights or stop signs?

sally griffin's avatar

Find out if DeSantis vaccinated his kids

Martha Ture's avatar

Hurricanes, humidity, heat, and hate. OTOH, Carl Hiaasen is a national treasure. I wonder what he's writing now.

Effieangel's avatar

Who is Carl Hiaasen? I’m not going to search for it I was just curious

Martha Ture's avatar

Nobody here is your librarian. You can google him yourself.

Effieangel's avatar

You seem nice. Not

sally griffin's avatar

Please find out if DeSantis valued his kids. Bet he did

Effieangel's avatar

Even if he did he’ll prolly lie and say he didn’t

While I tend to find the rhetoric on Blue Amp to be over the top, this hits the right notes. From “ the Sunshine State’s messiah of morons” to “ It takes a special kind of political depravity to look at the history of modern medicine—arguably humankind’s biggest triumph—and decide it’s the enemy”. “This is theater for the terminally gullible” is pitch perfect!

Michelle W.'s avatar

The most revolting part is that assuredly they and at least their older kids have been vaccinated, and will also receive all the vaccines and care they could possibly need in the event of an emergency. Après-moi, le déluge, eh.

Ross Allen's avatar

As a parent, should I not have the expectation that my child goes to school in a safe and healthy environment to learn?

If someone is so dimwitted and misled that they do not want to save their children from disease with proven and safe healthcare measures, they must not be allowed to impose dire risks on others. Let them homeschool their children.

A public education, like a driver's license, should be a privilege not a right. And with that privilege comes responsibility.

John H Stevens's avatar

Ross, when I was in grade school, mid to late 50's early 60's, classmates had Polio, TB, Chicken Pox, Rubella and many more diseases that were for the most part eliminated with vaccines by the time I went to high school.

What FL doing is just plain insanity!

Ross Allen's avatar

Cruel, irresponsible, ignorant, and dangerous. Is this the government we deserve?

Effieangel's avatar

De Santis always looks unclean physically.

Of course he’s revoltingly filthy, evil and cruel mentally.

Robin Dumler's avatar

Like a grubby MF.

Trump, DeSantis and the rest of the MAGA cult are all modern day political Luddites who would like to return a time that only exists in their imaginations.
