Please--call it 'Tariffs Day' or something else--I can't stand to hear the Felon's framing. He's 'liberating' us from our money and the rule of law.

As a Democrat, we need to accept our failures in creating this mess: We did not have a proper primary election. Joe Biden did not step down in time. We did nothing to address campaign-finance reform in 2021 nor 2022. Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer need to do what Dianne Feinstein and Ruth Bader Ginsburg did not: Enjoy retirement.

I'm an Independent but I'll horn in anyway. Democrats should stop blaming themselves and fighting themselves, and work to win the next election, and the next, and the next... Maybe by 2028, if we're still a democracy, we can reclaim our country.

I wish we could. Frankly, I am NOT a fan of corporate Democrats nor centrists because voters deserve a stark choice. I wonder what our society would look like with four parties: MAGA, more-traditional Republicans, centrists and progressives.

I think you framed things beautifully. You nailed so many things that could have been done and should have been done. It think it’s definitely past time for Baby Boomers (I’m one - 76) to step aside. George W. Bush saw that finance restrictions were removed and it’s been a nightmare ever since. Now our oligarchs are interfering with and jeopardizing our democracy. Trump has betrayed our allies and embraced our enemies.

Thank you. I defer to you because you lived through things I didn’t; no substitute for experience.

I agree with your final two sentences.

Chris - I left one word out. Sentence with Bush - should read

‘campaign finance’. Prior to Bush opening the door to corruption, we had strict laws regarding the amount of $ corporations, special interest groups (ie Teamsters etc) individuals etc. could donate to a campaign. Super PACs started in 2010. The law included no dark $ and no foreign $. The law was strictly enforced. Elon would have been stopped, arrested and put on trial.

My hope has always been that The Tangerine Tyrant will piss off enough wealthy people that they’ll find a way to imprison him, as he should be. Big money makes big decisions, and big money really screwed up backing such an ignoramus.

These successful businessmen backed a felon with a history of failed busnisses. Not very smart-- and even less to not look into what Navarro said. Remember that during the pandemic Navarro felt he knew more than doctors and scientists. I am no oil producer but it seems to me that there is never enough for the oil barons. Karma has a way of mucking up their plans and it could not have happened at a better time. As usual, our con man in office was the winner by getting their money into his pockets which was/is predictable with the Trumps.

Yes, but you are missing the points:

1. Hamm and Co have already paid Trump,. so he doesn’t give a shit

2. Putin told Trump to Tariff, tariff, tariff (except Russia etc), to DESTROY AMERICA, and Trump doesn’t give any shits for America either.

Putin wins and pats Trump on his very rich head.

Mobster Trump always "takes care" of his friends. Duh.

I know a few years ago I read fracked oil breaks even about $46/barrel. I'm sure that is well over $50 now! That is why production was so low after the pandemic…. Not because Biden shut the oil production down! How do stupid people get so much money?

“In other words the Trump administration’s plan at this point is to raise the cost of drilling, lower the price of gas, and count on oil companies to survive and drill more, anyway, because…they’ll invent stuff. In short: Magic.”

In other words, the classic:

Step one: Destroy the economy

Step two: ???

Step three: $$$$MILLIONS$$$$
