Just so you feel good about yourself with regards to broken hearts, I've been a lifelong Oakland fan, And I had season tickets for Oakland A's Oakland Raiders and Gs Warriors (long before curry but through the 3 championships he helped them win while at roaracle.) than 1,2,3 boom all gone. I'm talking they have always been my teams, ive never strayed. I havent watched sports since. Im a guy who went to the live home games and sometimes they away games. The only reason i bought an 80” tv was so i could get a similar kinda ‘closeness’ to game when they were away games. And, thats the only thing i watched on tv. Seriously. Nothing else. I haven't watched sports at all since. I haven't watched any T.V. For over 7 years. Broken hearts? Yeah totally.
The problem with Polymarket, etc, is when the President of the United States gets involved in a FIFA game. Might want to look at who made money on that. It's a problem, and I am not sure why Wolfers keeps justifying it. (along with Stock Buybacks) Please
I wasn’t really looking for advice per se but I’d like to hear economists talk some about their thinking about these issues. This constant increase on Wall Street has to hit a wall at some point. Older people close to or retired need to pay attention. I guess anyone with investments that aren’t large enough to fully ride it out or are trying to live on it now may need to rethink that 🤷♀️ so more generally, not actual advise. I have “a guy for that” but of course he wants to keep his job too so what are the chances truth will prevail, probably very little.
