Something happened to the satire economy this week: everybody sang. All five of David Shuster’s top political satire clips are music videos, which has never happened before on this countdown. At number five, Scared Ketchup turns the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool—still green, still not fixed—into a Latin banger called “Make Algae Great Again,” with Trump spokesman Steven Cheung earning a cameo for the second straight week. At four, Mr. Newberger slows it down for “Don’t Mess with Jeanine Pirro,” a crooner tribute to the U.S. attorney who indicted an Olympic canoeist over that same pool liner, then withdrew the case and pointed at a lower-level prosecutor for the grand jury errors. At three, ItsRucka takes on Houthi ship-blocking and piracy in the Middle East. Shuster’s honest verdict on that one: not a fan of the original song, but well done.
