Fellow Buckeyes, while beloved, Mr Shuster doesn’t speak for us all. I point out w love OSU has more nat football championships & knows not to call 14 timeouts in an NCAA playoff basketball game
And I’m not even a Buckeye fan! Hurrah Hurrah for Pennsylvania, Hurrah for the Red & Blue! 7 nat 🏈 championships, never to win another. But founded by the coolest dude ever, Ben Franklin, which rectifies all manner of sins (tho maybe not Trump & Musk having attended)
I know nothing about football and care even less — I think big-time quasi-pro college sports should be abolished. But the real shame of THE OSU and tragically all other public universities in Ohio is SB 1, which nukes fair, free, open inquiry, strips professors of their free speech, abolishes diverse opinions and equal treatment for all, and forces rightwing viewpoints to be taught. As it destroys education in the state, football isn't a #1 concern. OSU's problems begin and end in the legislature. Hey — maybe they could abolish DEI for football so the skinny, clumsy sons of big donors could take the place of athletes on the team!
Glad I’m not the only one thinking about droping my subscription to this so/so blog. Ohio State has a band that is better than any Michigander could even contimplate. Go BUCKS-BLUE!!!
Go Bucks !! Great University The Ohio State University .You don’t make yourself look good bashing someone else’s school . Not a fan of this article. Offense is good in athletics. Offensive not so good in conversation .
I almost canceled my subscription today. I grew up in Columbus. Not only that, I went to THEE Ohio State University. Not only that, my mother, father, stepfather, grandparents and sisters did too. Not only that but my grandfather literally raised millions of dollars for OSU as president of the Development Fund. Not only THAT, but my grandfather’s best friend was Bill Dougherty, composer of “Fight the Team.” I used to go over to his house for play dates with Bill’s granddaughter but spent most of my time playing his pianos (he had five of them - grand pianos lined up head to toe in the ballroom). I have a copy of “Songs of The Ohio State University” signed by Bill. My sister still spends the week before Thanksgiving crossing out Ms on all her correspondence. My uncle spent most of his time AT MY WEDDING RECEPTION in the church kitchen listening to the Big Game. Just kidding, of course about the subscription. Unless Michigan wins. Just kidding again. They won’t win.
Thanks, Ellen. If OSU wins, I will publicly apologize to you and all OSU fans on next Wednesday’s Substack shows. However, if Michigan wins, you have to sing the Michigan victors. Deal?

Go blue! David, where did YOU go to school?
As a long-time Michigan fan, thank you for this! Lol 😉
Dumb and unnecessary essay. And I am a UofM grad. What was this?

Philip, hang with us. I live in Cincy and will join you in mocking David when OSU wins
Enjoy your band.
I'm sure our joke of a legislature could find a way to destroy the band.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even when they are wrong. Goodbye.

Clearly you are not a fan of the game or rivalry. Understandable for OSU fans to feel that way the past four years.
It won't be much longer, thanks to Speaker Huffman.

I could do that. Do I have to record it?
No, just sing it to your family and tell me their reaction!
Sounds fair!
Entertaining and well written but a farce. Go Bucks!
Good luck, Sal!
