Cornell…AGAIN?
What the hell is going on with Cornell University these days? Seriously. I try not to judge too quickly, but one huge ethical error that becomes a public nightmare per year really ought to be enough—a second one means we’re starting to see a pattern.
Full disclosure: I’m closely connected to Cornell (though if you’ve read my regular critiques of my high school, I suspect you’ll have confidence I won’t hold back). My mom’s as active alum as she can be at her age. I grew up going to reunions. And Cornell was one of my top two choices when it came time to attend college. I was accepted somehow (drunk admissions officer?), but ended up going to my other choice.
Now let’s get to the sickening story. I’ll first remind you a Cornell student replied to a job interview by saying he “didn’t want to work for Jews.” His own parents kicked him out of their house. Cornell…was fine letting him come back to school the next year without so much as a bs sensitivity course…
Even knowing that, this is shocking:
Look, it’s very possible because of the healing process she didn’t provide enough information for charges to be brought against these thugs. But where the F’s Cornell? I’ve seen no explanation as to why they didn’t follow up on the “incident,” and no statement today. Now maybe they made one, but should I really have to search for it? Shouldn’t it be everywhere? Please share it in the comments if you see it.
I hope these SOBs get everything coming to them (yes, I’m assuming guilt, because I’m a man who saw and heard things in college and since—and I believe women). But I will also look at it with a slightly skeptical—innocent til proven guilty—eye that comes with former role on the Board of The Ohio Innocence Project, and if wrong, I’ll be the first to admit it. None of this excuses the absence of Cornell.
Turns out if you screw up roughly three dozen things at the same time, eventually gravity will catch up with you, no matter how much you lie.
And I’m seeing it everywhere. I never knew many Trump supporters personally. At this point the three I do know, two of whom live in swing states (Ohio and Georgia), and one in lean blue state (Colorado) are all so sick of him they are either going to sit out the election, or in at least one case for Democrats across the board.
Yes, three people isn’t statistically significant, but a pattern it does make. And that poll I just showed you, well that’s statistically significant AF. When Democrats may beat Republican Senate incumbents in Kansas and Arkansas and win governorships in Florida, Texas, Georgia, Ohio, Iowa, to quote Buffalo Springfield: “there’s something happening here.
Trump Begs for Votes in Iowa
Trump went to Iowa to lie about new jobs coming to the state in, get this, 2030. Uh, huh. There’s no point in going into deep detail. It’s a $15MM steel plant. It’s not a U.S., but Indian-owned company, of course. Also, of course, it would be Iowa, where Trump looks like he’s about to lose a governor’s race, senator’s race, and at least two U.S. House seats. And I’d bet you almost anything (hmm, maybe I hit Polymarket, get in early) it never even comes close to being built. I live in Ohio, we’ve been through Trump’s “we’re building a plant!” psychological pyromania targeted at workers.
It never happens.

Susan Collins. She frowns A WHOLE LOT, is “concerned” often, but has enabled Trump (Strike 1) and voted for Brett Kavanaugh to join The Supreme Court and end Roe (Strike 2). Well, now we have a report by Pro-Publica that she engaged in a pay-to-play scheme where her SuperPAC took half a million or more in donations from defense contractor Navatek, for stuff “we didn’t need.” It seems she was involved in a pay to play scheme, and she might be in the pokey right now if Trump hadn’t won, as he fired the Justice Department figures running the massive public corruption investigation into Collins and others.
I worked against Collins in 2002, know a lot of the insiders there, and will have a piece coming combining my experience and knowledge from living there with who she really is, why this was predictable, and whether a non-Trump Administration could bring up the charges again.
