The shutdown was an ugly situation all around with no good end. But after ten months of trump's BS most Americans did seem to realize that the responsibility and fault was on the Republicans. And it came through in the elections and in all the polls. I am devastated that we did not see this through - devastated. This was our opportunity to use the only leverage we have right now since they own the three branches of our government. The SNAP benefits were being issued by a court ruling so the biggest issues remaining were lost wages and air travel. But to give in now made it all for nothing, or so it seems. Maybe people know too much now to just forget what the Republicans have done. They still have to answer for the healthcare subsidies issue, too. I hold the turncoat eight responsible and no one else because any other conclusion is just assumption. They are the traitors, and as you pointed out (which I was not aware of) they have nothing to lose!!! The rest of the Dems did good. They stayed strong and focused, and refused to give up the fight for us, the people. Frightening to think how all this is going to play out. We just fed the egotistical, control freak more power!
The President or government official of the United States shall not under any circumstance take money or anything of value or conversion of such from a foreign government in exchange for favors or influence under his/her executive authority.

If the Democrats didn’t end it, and planes crashed, or there were desperate people nationwide looting to feed their families, or US servicemen overseas had to go to food banks in foreign countries to eat, as they were told to do in Germany by the Administration, Trump would have called it an EMERGENCY! and demanded that the Republicans in the Senate end the filibuster, which they would have done because that would appear to much of the voting public that THEY had ended it, and saved the country from Democratic bullying. It was likely their best end play, considering that possibility.

Democrats are infamous for their circular firing squads but please at least consider that this may be a well planned strategy that will highlight the Republicans” true intentions to plunder and loot regardless of the harm to the people of this country. It may turn out to be the best possible move Democrats could make.

The Federal Government shall respect and not intrude on State rights and shall only interview in state issues at the call of the governor or acting governor.
It shall be criminal for any military person to be used, restrain or take up arms against any citizen of the United States. It shall equally be criminal for any government official or citizen to order such military action agains any such citizen.
There shall be no immunity granted by any court to any government official for the purpose of preempting future charges from being leveled against that government official.
The Supreme Court shall serve the people by interpretation of the constitution, laws and legal president. The Supreme Court shall explain all rulings in plain english to the American people all rulings. All request to the Supreme Court shall first go though all appeals
