They’re Already Floundering

We really must talk about the absolute beatdown right-wing shill and longtime Mitch McConnell piss-boy, Scott Jennings, has taken on CNN all week. But, not just because it’s fun that this slice of wonder bread come to life is taking Ls like it’s a full-time job.

Because it’s part of a bigger trend. Sure, Trump and Musk (with Pootie help) schemed, tricked and lied their way to power. They told different audiences very different stories, which was easy with the world’s richest idiot spending hundreds of millions on tv ads with as much of a relationship to the truth as he has with his 11 kids.

This tracks with Donald Trump’s polling. 47%. During the honeymoon phase! To get that low, you have to go back to…Trump’s first term. And then to find it again, you’d have a hop in a DeLorean and make your way back to 1953.

So, the fact that Scott Jennings is an irksome liar in yacht slippers, a reprobate McConnellite who stands for nothing, believes in nothing, cares about nothing but his own station in life, isn’t news.

But like much of America after Musk’s illegal stunt breaking into the Treasury Department. And Donald Trump’s series of executive orders on the most inane culture-war issues nobody but his hairy-knuckled base cares about, everyone else at CNN—not just liberals—seemed to have had enough of Jennings’ tedious routine.

And they didn’t even attempt to hide it.

Scott Jennings Crushed Like an Empty Sprite Can

If you haven’t seen it, I’ll paint a picture. Imagine watching a punching bag lie non-stop on national tv with utter contempt for those around it. Now imagine watching everyone else at the table—a half dozen or so—punch that punching bag in the d*k. Voila! You have your picture!

First, CNN’s Abby Phillips laid him out like a rotten poker hand, smacking down his pathetic little sob story about ‘liberal judges’ blocking Trump’s agenda. Her backhand on this particular bit of BS rivaled Serena.

JENNINGS: Here’s what I think is a joke–that you have these partisan hack Democrat attorney generals [Ed note: This irradiated dingbat rose to power working for McConnell. But he hates partisanship!].

They get together and the only thing they know how to do is try to nullify the results of the last election [Ed Note: Has this snowing-in-Utah white ghoul met Donald Trump, who after losing 1,167 straight court cases, still kept saying the 2020 election was “stolen?”] by venue shopping these district court judges. They find the most lunatic liberals they can. They file lawsuits knowing they’re going to try to usurp the president’s authority, tie this up in court for years.

And now we have Phillips with the hammer…

PHILLIPS: Lunatic liberal judges like a George W. Bush appointee, like a Ronald Reagan appointee, like a Donald Trump appointee, like another Ronald Reagan appointee, like another George W. Bush appointee. All of those lunatic liberal Republican appointees?

Oh, to describe Scotty-Boy’s face at that moment. Priceless. The blank gaze of a man who realized he walked into a bear trap he’d set. Like, buddy, at least try to bring some facts next time? This is just embarrassing.

Scott had much the same look during what we’ll call the moment of the night, when he lied about the role of the judges, and Phillips brushed him off with her hand, turned to him and said “let me explain it to you a little more slowly”…

You’re doin great, Scott!

Scott Jennings Punching Bag

CNN contributor Bakari Sellers also got in on the fun, pointing out Musk is getting the very government workers investigating his dirty dealings, fired—like at the FAA. Jennings huffed and puffed, and perhaps blew one of his McMansions down. But as Sellers repeated again and again “Tell me what I said that’s incorrect,” …and all Jennings could do was sputter like a dying motorboat.

It was like watching someone fall into quicksand, grab a rope to pull himself out and then realize he was holding a spitting cobra. At one point, I swear you could actually tell he was finding out right on his face, “maybe I should’ve just stayed in bed and lied on Twitter.”

This is what happens when you spend every day gaslighting America on cable tv and think nobody’s going to call you on it. Scott Jennings has been playing the role of “serious Republican strategist” while pushing Trump’s garbage, and now?

Now he’s being clowned on live television. And I must tell you, it is delicious. If CNN keeps this up, we’re gonna have to start planning ahead for barbecue and beers.

Promising for American Democracy

But it’s also important. As is the fact Joe Scarborough hasn’t gotten 50% of his audience back. That the Washington Post lost 12% of its subscriptions. That lawsuits are flying left right against Musk and Trump.

That Democrats are standing up and using harsh messaging—including more than a few profanities—to describe Musk & Trump. That regular Americans held rallies in all 50 state capitals, apparently for the first time ever.

It’s been three weeks and we’ve already had enough. Expect that to only get worse.

And, Scott? Buddy, maybe take a break! Go outside. Picture cutting someone’s Meals on Wheels. Get some air flowing between your ears. Read a book. Play with your joystick.

Or just keep showing up on TV to get humiliated. Because, honestly? It’s the most useful thing you’ve done in your entire life.
