It’s not every day that a former Trump White House lawyer goes on TV and mercilessly mocks Trump and his dolt-on-a-wire Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt. But that happened this week. In one appearance on CNN, Ty Cobb, the lawyer with the hall of fame name, smacked Leavitt as “Creepy Karoline” and blasted Trump as a “ranting wounded narcissist.”
The beatdowns came in the aftermath of a federal court ruling in Manhattan that blocked most of the Trump tariffs. In a 3-0 unanimous decision, the U.S. federal court of International Trade in Manhattan said Trump had exceeded his authority under the International Economic Powers Act.
Congress, which typically has the tariff power, passed the act nearly 50 years ago. It gives a President the authority to bypass lawmakers on tariffs in a national emergency, specifically war. The court rejected Trump’s claim that trade deficits trigger the act. The court noted that no U.S. President until Trump ever invoked the act. And every President for the past 48 years has presided over trade deficits.
Naturally, Trump and his team went ballistic when informed that a court was stomping on their tariff bypass of Congress as well as their delicate egos. Trump press secretary Karoline Leavitt furiously took to the briefing room to declare, “America cannot function if President Trump, or any other President for that matter, has their sensitive diplomatic or trade negotiations railroaded by activist judges.”
Leavitt added, “these judges are threatening to undermine the credibility of the United States on the world stage.” Yes, despite Trump’s on-again, off-again, on-again policy on tariffs, often with random countries he doesn’t even know why he’s attacking, it’s a court that is undermining U.S. credibility. Remarkable.
Thankfully, Ty Cobb stepped up to the punditry plate on CNN and just completely crushed it. Quote: “I don’t think creepy Karoline, when she speaks, I don’t think anybody in America takes her seriously on a matter of substance. She is not learned by any imagination.”
Cobb noted that one of the three judges on the Court of International Trade is Tim Reif. Trump appointed Reif to the court. And Reif, a conservative, is considered one of the most highly regarded experts on trade law in the United States. Translation: The Supreme Court is highly unlikely to overturn the ruling.
Trump himself is making the odds even longer thanks to one of his latest unhinged Truth Social Media posts. An irate and petulant Trump blamed the string of adverse court rulings on a conservative activist named Leonard Leo. Leo used to run the Federalist Society, which recommended judges to Trump during his first term and fought for their appointments. Now, Trump hates the man.
Trump wrote that Leo is a “sleazebag… a bad person who, in his own way, probably hates America.” Many on the liberal side of the spectrum probably agree with Trump on this singular point.
The funny thing about Leo, though, is that he is reportedly close friends with Supreme Court Justices Amy Coney Barrett, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Cavanaugh – yes, if you’re counting, the very three justices appointed by Trump. So, Trump’s not exactly helping himself or his tariff case with those particular members of the The Court. And based on the case alone, Trump’s climb was steep to begin with.

In other words, a Trump humiliation at SCOTUS is most on the menu pretty soon. And that’s on top of the endless ridicule he is facing already on social media, and even in some corporate media outlets, over the term T.A.C.O.
The story here’s as funny as it is sad for America: Wall Street traders, pointing to their gains in betting against Trump’s initial policy pronouncements—in particular, tariff threats—have coined the acronym to mean Trump Always Chickens Out. The internet is going wild and making it stick. My favorite is a video of Wall street traders with chicken heads dancing around the NYSE. The music bed is the infamous “chicken dance polka.”
Watch, for the sheer hilarity
Yes, the internet always wins. And Trump’s losses in court, on TV, and across social media are getting more epic by the day. Enjoy it all thoroughly. Through the years, Trump famously (and sometimes amusingly) belittled his rivals with nicknames including “Little Marco,” “Low Energy Jeb,” and “Crooked Hillary.”
My bet is that all of it was Trumpian projection. But that’s a subject for a different day. Now, Chicken Trump and his chief propaganda minister, Creepy Karoline, are getting what they deserve.
As the saying goes, “the chickens are coming home to roost.”

IMO, Leavitt is the most rabid of all of Trump's press secretaries. She is completely devoid of anything resembling ethical behavior.
She is prostituting patriotism and Christianity for her own devious purposes.
