Please forward this to every single one of the "Democrats". You'll be lucky if you receive an acknowledgement. Where are they? Collecting their paychecks and living their lives quite comfortably. We're invisible to pretty much all of them. They don't work for us and they know it!

This is brilliant. Everything you say is brilliant. How do we get this message to the Democrat leaders and hold their feet to the fire? Let’s see more of Bernie Sanders and OAC because they are attracting young voters in their thousands. Dem leaders must make way for the young, and I say this as an octogenarian.

Cliff Schecter's avatar

Thank you so much, Pamela. I’m doing my best through public pressure and I think lots of other folks need to do through private pressure. We may soon have to start a campaign of all of us, calling our members and having them demand that our leadership be dumped or otherwise we’re gonna take a potential FDR type election and turn it into a loss.

Cliff Schecter's avatar

I will. And I’ll ask you to please forward it to every friend, family member, elected Democrat, and anyone else you know because they need to know how we’re feeling.

Forwarded to my two Dem senators.

I was already furious over the unanimous Senate approval of a day honoring Kirk. This helped me articulate many issues at once.

We NEED to hold Primaries. Maybe those will help force the point across.

Judy CZUBATI's avatar

That was quite a disappointment but not surprising.

Judy CZUBATI's avatar

Quiet as little mice, aren’t they? We really only hear from a few of them.

T. Saporito's avatar

Wow! That’s saying it loud and clear. Where is our support and back up? Our elected “leaders”…where are they?

Judy CZUBATI's avatar

Living quietly in the background..collecting their salaries..their many benefits… quiet and meek. Hidden.

Great question. As I said there are a few who are doing a great job., Crockett, AOC, Pritzker, Newsom and some others, but they are mostly massively, failing us

All of the republicans and almost all of the democrats in congress—certainly the congressional “leadership”—need to get the hell out of our Congress. We need to let them know they are done. This may take a few years, but the journey of a thousand miles, they say, begins with one step.

Cliff Schecter's avatar

As I said there are about 2 dozen very good ones in the House. Maybe even a few more than that. But yes, I would say 75% of House Dems need to take a hike & that especially leadership

Lexine's avatar

I think my rep is one of the good ones, although she voted Present on the Charlie Kirk day of honor bill. That's not OK, IMO.

Nailed it! Sick of requests for $$ when I don’t see any action. Scream on the capital steps, march somewhere, anywhere, draw attention to Dem values. I don’t understand the lack of outrage! And LOVE Jasmine Crockett👍

Garrett Mengel's avatar

I stopped donating to the national party and kept telling them why until their donation requests finally stopped. Now I only donate to individiual campaigns and "troublemakers".

It's just one more way to RESIST. Funding is something they notice.

Great move, thanks.

Judy CZUBATI's avatar

I ignore all those money requests

Pretty much fuckin’A

I just gave a gift subscription, I hope it helps.

Cliff Schecter's avatar

Every subscription helps so thank you. All the paid subscriptions we can get help us support other creators and strengthen our operations so thank you so much!

PLEASE SEND TO EVERY DEMOCRAT IN Washington! I'm planning on printing this and doing just that!! Thank you!

Cliff Schecter's avatar

Thank you I appreciate it. I would ask you to send it to every Democrat in Washington because if it comes from me, it’s a bit self-serving. If it comes from you, it has more power.

David Clark's avatar

You know how AOC got her seat? She defeated Jim Crowley, who was thought to be the next House Speaker, in a primary. Same way the Republican House Majority Leader, Eric Cantor got the boot, primaried. We need some good younger Dems to step up and run. I have the same problem we already have, I'm too old. We need people that have fight in them because what we have now ain't getting it done.

Jayzp3's avatar

Well said. I live in a very red area, but I will send to the few Dems around. This is f***ing fascism and getting worse daily.

90% of Democrats are Do-Nothing Democrats and need to be fired. Their brains and values were bought out by big money - many of them - before they were ever elected. If they’re working at all, they’re not working for us. That’s why we’re where we’re at. Follow the money.

Charles Rizzuto's avatar

Democratic leaders need to get off their asses NOW. Then we all will be there to back them up en masse. Enough of this fascist coup.

Michaela Burgnon's avatar

I keep writing the same thing - Chuck and Hakeem seem to be in the pockets of AIPAC. They need to put US first. Stop trying to appease. Endorse Mamdani. Shut down the funding. Grow a spine - stop this "strong letter" idiocy. You cannot trust anything coming from the mouth of a Republican.

Judy CZUBATI's avatar

This STRONG LETTER stuff is so stupid and useless…. Dear Leader does not even know how to READ, Chuckie!

A request for money from Mark Kelly of AZ entitled “I owe you an explanation”… and my reply.

Michael, Mark Kelly here.

I often get asked what I’m doing right now to counter Trump.

I think I owe it to you to explain what exactly it is that I’m doing, and why I’m doing it.

First off, I’m talking to Republicans. I know that might not sound all that impressive, but with tensions as high as they are, it’s getting kind of rare. I’m trying to continue to set an example and show you can still find common ground with people you disagree with.

What we do in response makes all the difference. I firmly believe that the only way we’ll see ourselves out of the situation we are in now, the only way we can bring back some real accountability, is by retaking majorities in the House and Senate. And that’s exactly what I’ve been working towards.

In Arizona, I’m working to support the Arizona Democratic Party and our slate of candidates. I’m making sure the people running — from the top of the ballot to the bottom — are getting the help they need from me. And I continue to help build out the infrastructure it’s going to take to win across the state next year.

And around the country, I’m doing the same thing. In the Senate, we need to defend all of our seats and grab a few more to win a majority. I took the Vice Chair position at the DSCC because I knew I could make a difference by helping out the candidates running in those races.

I’m not doing any of this for attention, publicity, or a thank you. I’m doing it because it’s what I can do to turn things around, and because we have to win next year.

Now, if any of that sounds like something you’d like to be a part of, I’ve got a humble request for you…

MY REPLY

Sounds like a lot of words and very little action.

We need a real leader, Mark.

We’ve needed a real leader for a long time. And now, we have democrats coasting on a 1985 mentality when we need leaders that understand the reality of 2025. The reason we’re in this mess is because we haven’t had effective policy makers or communicators in the Democratic Party. We need strength and conviction that supports the American people, not the billionaires or the authoritarians.

We need demonstrated real action backing up real values, not milk toast. Your email has less content than the emails I’ve received from Paul Gosar. Shame on you.

I remain thoroughly disappointed in your performance. I’d give it a C-. You have not earned your salary let alone a donation.

Another letter from Mark Kelly and my response.

Michael —

Back when I first decided to run for U.S. Senate, I knew it wouldn’t be easy. I knew there’d be a ton of travel, events, time spent on the phone, and time away from my family.

You have to face millions and millions of dollars in attack ads during the campaign, and square off against corporate special interests and the wealthy and powerful when you’re in office.

You have to watch the president and his supporters attack you and try to convince the country you’re some kind of terrible person, or even a traitor to the country you served your whole life.

And you have to hope that millions of people you might never meet will see all of that and still have your back.

That’s why your support means so much to me, Michael. And it’s why I tell you so often that I can’t do this without you. Contributions of $5 or $10 from grassroots supporters are by far the largest source of donations we have.

None of this happens without you. It really means a lot to me. And it’s why I’m coming around to this request [for more money]…

MY RESPONSE

Stop crying and get to work and make some creative and strategic noise.

Or move out of the way and make room for someone who actually wants the fight.

The correct term describing them is Collaborators.

We need a revolution. This can't be settled by words. 2025 pays no attention to words. Actions are what counts. You have to fight with equal weapons. Democrats are being far too decent. Sad.
